My Scape Outdoor Exhibition - Kings Cross

I’m delighted to have been invited to exhibit as part of the Camden Artist Network’s My Escape exhibition, presented on the King’s Cross Art Benches from 10–30 August 2026.

The exhibition brings together work by Camden-based artists, transforming the public spaces around King’s Cross into an open-air gallery as part of The Outside Art Project.

For the exhibition, I’m presenting abstract work from my ongoing Hand Masters series — a deeply personal body of work exploring transformation and self-acceptance through photography and painting.

I will be presenting abstract work from my ongoing Hand Masters series, a deeply personal body of work exploring vitiligo transformation and self-acceptance through photography and painting.

Inspired by the tradition of Old Master paintings and Dutch floral still lifes, Hand Masters began as a photographic exploration and evolved alongside my own changing relationship with my skin. The series combines flowers, portraiture and painterly references to explore beauty, change and the freedom found in creating intuitively.

For My Escape, the abstract work takes on an additional meaning: the creative process itself becomes a form of escape — a space for me to slow down, reconnect with nature and create without expectation.

For me, escape is found in the quiet moments within the city’s constant movement. Walking through Hampstead Heath, surrounded by plants and flowers, gives me space to slow down, breathe and reconnect with myself.

My Hand Masters series often begins with collecting flowers from local flower shops and creating detailed, abstract close-up studies. I find a sense of peace in this process because it frees me from expectations of what my work should look like and allows me to be fully present.

In those moments, the pressure of being an artist falls away, and I am simply making.
